  Leerlingen CAE bezoeken Londen

Videoverslag CAE trip to London

“ Next time I would like to talk to more people, because after all, that has been a very good part of the trip and it is a great experience.”

“At the market in Cambridge there was a whole group of students interviewing people. They wanted us to go punting on the canals. So they asked us a lot of things and we did the same with them.”

“It was an amazing experience and I have become less scared to speak English in public.”

“I noticed that during the trip, it became easier to talk English.”

“In Holland, when you speak English in class, you can just stop and go on in Dutch if you don’t know what to say next, and in London you can’t do that because everybody speaks only English.”

“We visited some shops and tried on prom dresses, and I had a conversation with the saleswoman about where we came from and about the prom.”

“We got there by underground, where we had a conversation with a group of boys who were wondering if we were German. We explained where we were from and they were really excited about Zwolle and Amsterdam, they said once you have been there, you will think london is quite boring. Well. We thought it was the other way round!

“Before I was really scared to go up to strangers and talk to them in a foreign language, but now I feel relieved I did it and I really think I learnt something during these three amazing days.”

“The next time I do an interview with someone it would be a good idea to be more enthusiastic. In these interviews I was a bit shy and I don’t want to be seen as a shy girl because that’s not who I really am.”

“It was really funny when Melanie and I talked to a Dutch man for an interview and he didn’t notice we weren’t English.”

“It is a very good exercise, not only because of practising your English, but at the same time practising to have the courage to go and ask somebody something”.
